College is done for the semester, so I have more time to work on my personal art!
A few commissions are currently in the works; a couple Native American portraits, a tattoo design, and a custom painted table. Most recently, I completed a drawing of a sea turtle using pastel and colored pencil as mediums. As for works in progress, I’m halfway through a colored pencil cheetah portrait. I enjoy drawing wildlife, but human portraits are more intriguing.
Art school has been going well, but it has made me question a few things. Do I really want to go into graphic design? As of now, I’m double majoring in graphic design and painting, I know drawing and painting are my greatest passions, but a graphic design degree will get me a job. There are so many cliches in the graphic design world, it seems sterile and mechanical. I'm tired of the concentric circles plus stock flourish brushes equaling “design”.
